As many of you know, the five priests who fell ill and died caring for the sick and dying are being proposed for sainthood, and their cause has been accepted by the Church. On Tuesday, September 26, there will be Mass at noon at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Shreveport honoring Fr. Jean Marie Biler, Chaplain at St. Vincent's, and the Daughters of the Cross, three of whom also died while serving the stricken. Thery were Sr. Marie Marthe Denes, Sr. Marie Angle le Nedelec, and Sr. Rose of Lima Desselles. Sr. Margaret Rose Cano, now a Marianite of the Holy Cross living in Lafayette, is planning to attend. All former students of the Daughters of the Cross are also invited, and Fr. Duane Trombetta is going to reserve a section for us. A light lunch will follow at St. John's Parish Hall. Please plan to attend if you can! If you would like to reserve a place in the Daughters of the Cross section, please RSVP to Patti Underwood, SVA '71, at [email protected] or 318.773.2147.
