St. Joseph's feast day is March 19. This year it falls on a Sunday. We will celebrate with a St. Joseph's Day Altar, a tradition brought to Louisiana by Italian immigrants in the 1800's as St. Joseph is the patron saint of Italy. The St. Joseph's Day Altar is kind of like a buffet - so bring a dish or food item that you would like to share with the congregation, place it on the altar, and Fr. George will bless all the contents after Mass. At that time, you can choose what you would like from the altar as we gather as a community. Don't forget to take a "lucky bean," another tradition that says that if you place one in your purse or pocket, it will never be empty. :)
